Some argue that it is too easy to pass, while others argue that it is too difficult. Despite its long history, the Turing test is still controversial. This was the first time a machine had ever been able to pass the Turing test. In 2014, a computer program called Eugene Goostman fooled 33% of the judges at the Turing Test 2014 competition into thinking it was human. In the nearly 70 years since Turing first proposed the test, there have been many notable attempts to pass it. Since then, the Turing test has become the gold standard for measuring artificial intelligence.

To pass the Turing test, a machine must be able to fool a human into thinking it is also human.

In 1950, Alan Turing proposed the Turing test as a way to determine whether a machine could truly be considered intelligent.
